Nor Cal and the freaks geeks and weirdos that live here.

Bear really sorry to hear about your loss. Commiserations.

Last I posted we were about to leave the 101 and set off on Highway 1 but to do this you have to go over Leggett Hill. It has been on my mind for ages but the 1800ft climb which is the highest on the whole journey was not to bad, the decent was the right side of mental. Nobody warned me of Rockport Hill which is straight after, that was tough but again the decent was just amazing, managed to overtake a car 🙂 he seemed to think I was going 50mph but my computer said only 41. Back on the coast and Northern California is for sale, every house with an Ocean view seems to be on the market. The freaks, geeks and weirdos are everywhere now. There is something strange about the Californian physche. They seem scared of stuff is the best way I can describe it.

Now you know I am travelling with Sue and Bruce, well Bruce is the most generous kindest man but he has an achilles heel. That is bad service in restaurants and just north of Fort Bragg we met the mother of bad service. The Purple Rose Mexican restaurant felt the wrath of Bruce, it was well deserved as the food was a joke and the waitress just couldnt care less. Funny seeing the two Grays meltdown in a matter of days, funny but in a good way.

The coast is stunning but really tough cycling, I picked up a bug in Fort Bragg and managed 35miles the next day. Then just done no energy coughing spluttering. So had a few days off and now feel right as rain.

I have met some amazing people in the last few days and some pretty scarey characters.

Geoff Carter is a man from Wigan who has fetched up in Elk California, had a really good chat and he gave me a 10 mile lift 🙂 we talked rugby league and Union for about 3 hours.

Last night met John who you would swear just came out of the Shed at Gloucester 🙂 he has been in Canada for 40 years. His accent hadn’t dropped at all.

Keiran a hyper Canadian who has done what I have done in 2 weeks, madness.

Met the Canadians again which was cool.

I clicked over the 1000 mile mark a couple of days ago and San Francisco is 70 miles down the road. Will be happy to get out of Northern Claifornia, just dont like it.

I am writing this in a place called Bodega Bay and listening to people asking for Chi latte teas, I dont even know what that is. I dont want to know what that is.

Surf is about 3 to 5 ft and the weather today is cloudy and pretty chilly, rain for tomorrow.

Hope everyone is well

Dick we enjoyed meeting you in the coffeeshop today. It’s a small world when an Orioles fan from Maryland and an Orioles fan from Wales meet in Northern California.

Email me your mailing address in Wales and I’ll send you that O’s item we discussed.

    Safe travels.

    Josh

    PS chai lattes are yummy!

shedheads get everywhere hope you told him about your trips to castle grim. Update for you on Ospralia just in case your not able to get to the rugby web pages. We are in european weeks. They lost away to Toulon last week 19-14 Jonny did for them with a cross field to sackey. This week I watched them on sky and they put the not nots to the sword 27-16. little shane scored a monster try from inside his own half. Glaws scored 14 tries against Rovigo. Shame you did not pack a board with surf about or are you hiring. Going to look at google earth now to see where you are. Really looking forward to being interviewed for a job – ha – ha. Keep up with the missionary work, can’t wait to hear tales of S.F.
